Situado en el oeste Mar Mediterr\u00e1neo<\/span><\/span>, Ibiza<\/span><\/span> ha sido punto de encuentro de culturas durante m\u00e1s de 2.600 a\u00f1os. El primer asentamiento permanente se fund\u00f3 alrededor de 654 A.C.<\/strong> por comerciantes fenicios vinculados al puerto norteafricano de Cartago<\/span><\/span>, que estableci\u00f3 la isla como centro comercial y espiritual que enlazaba las rutas mar\u00edtimas entre Iberia y el Mediterr\u00e1neo oriental.<\/p>

En 123 A.C.<\/strong>, Ibiza pas\u00f3 a formar parte de la Imperio Romano<\/span><\/span>. La administraci\u00f3n romana expandi\u00f3 la agricultura, la producci\u00f3n de sal y la actividad portuaria, muchas de las cuales siguen configurando la econom\u00eda de la isla en la actualidad. Tras la ca\u00edda de Roma, la isla pas\u00f3 por varias manos hasta que se incorpor\u00f3 al mundo isl\u00e1mico a principios del siglo X bajo los Califato de C\u00f3rdoba<\/span><\/span>, En el siglo XIX se introdujeron sistemas avanzados de irrigaci\u00f3n, cultivos en terrazas y top\u00f3nimos que siguen utiliz\u00e1ndose.<\/p>

En 1235<\/strong>, En la Edad Media, los catalanes conquistaron la isla, aportando una nueva lengua y tradiciones que se fusionaron con la cultura amazigh existente. Se construyeron murallas defensivas e iglesias para protegerse de la pirater\u00eda, muchas de las cuales siguen en pie en la hist\u00f3rica ciudadela de Dalt Vila<\/span><\/span> sobre Ibiza ciudad<\/span><\/span>, Patrimonio de la Humanidad. UNESCO<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>

Hoy, en el marco de la Islas Baleares<\/span><\/span>, Ibiza sigue siendo una encrucijada viva. Antiguos caminos, terrazas, salinas y calles fortificadas se siguen utilizando a diario, lo que nos recuerda que la m\u00fasica, las tradiciones y el esp\u00edritu creativo de la isla surgieron de siglos de intercambio entre diferentes pueblos que dejaron algo tras de s\u00ed.<\/p>

Hay muchas buenas historias sobre la historia de mi familia en la isla<\/strong>; Siempre me ha apasionado este tema y me he inspirado mucho en \u00e9l.\u00a0<\/p>

Andreu Coll<\/strong>, mi antepasado, era un corsair<\/strong> a principios del siglo XIX, (eso quiere decir que era pirata, pero del bando de los buenos, con el consentimiento del Rey de Espa\u00f1a) y creo que por eso me atrae mucho el mar, barcos<\/strong> y historias de piratas<\/strong>.<\/p>

Jos\u00e9 Coll<\/strong>, mi tatarabuelo, fue el gobernador de Ibiza<\/strong> en el a\u00f1o 1822. Su hijo, m\u00e1s tarde emigr\u00f3 a Cuba y regres\u00f3 con una mujer, de ah\u00ed venimos nosotros.<\/p>

Tambi\u00e9n me gustar\u00eda mencionar al hermano del corsario, Vicente Coll<\/strong>, un cura de Ibiza que liber\u00f3 a una madre y una hija que eran esclavas<\/strong> por otra persona en una condici\u00f3n muy injusta, sacando sus nombres del censo de esclavos de la \u00e9poca e informando de ello al Rey.<\/p>

Todas estas historias me han inspirado en mi m\u00fasica de alguna manera, aunque estoy centrado en el presente y trabajo a partir de \u201dlo que hay\u201d, \u00e9stas me han dado inspiraci\u00f3n y me han ayudado a explicar ciertos gustos e inclinaciones personales.<\/p>

History Located in the western Mediterranean Sea, Ibiza has been a meeting point of cultures for more than 2,600 years. The first permanent settlement was founded around 654 BC by Phoenician traders connected to the North-African port of Carthage, who established the island as a commercial and spiritual centre linking sea routes between Iberia and the eastern Mediterranean. In 123 BC, Ibiza became part of the Roman Empire. Roman administration expanded agriculture, salt production, and harbour activity, many of which still shape the island\u2019s economy today. After the fall of Rome, the island passed through several hands until it was incorporated into the Islamic world in the early 10th century under the Caliphate of C\u00f3rdoba, introducing advanced irrigation systems, terraced farming, and toponyms that remain in use. In 1235, catalans conquered the island, bringing a new language and traditions that merged with the existing amazigh culture. Defensive walls and churches were built to protect against piracy, many of them still standing in the historic citadel of Dalt Vila above Ibiza Town, now preserved as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Today, as part of the Balearic Islands, Ibiza remains a living crossroads. Ancient roads, terraces, salt flats, and fortified streets are still used every day, which reminds us that the island\u2019s music, traditions, and creative spirit grew from centuries of exchange between different peoples who all left something behind. There are many good stories about the history of my family on the island; I was always passionate about this topic and drew many inspiration from this.\u00a0 Andreu Coll, my ancestor, was a corsair in the beginning of the XIX century, (that means he was a pirate, but on the good side, with the consent of the King of Spain) and I think that’s why I’m very drawn to the sea, boats and pirate stories. Jos\u00e9 Coll, my great-great grand father, was the governor of Ibiza in the year 1822. His son, later emigrated to Cuba and came back with a woman, that’s where we come from. Also, I would like to mention the brother of the corsair, Vicente Coll, a priest in Ibiza who freed a mother and daughter who were slaves for someone else in a very unjust condition by taking their names out from the slave census at that time and reporting it to the King. All these stories have inspired me on my music somehow, even though I’m focused on the present and work from ”what it is”, these have given me inspiration and helped me explain certain personal likings and inclinations.
