Finalmente, despu\u00e9s de un largo a\u00f1o trabajando en este \u00e1lbum, nuestro \u00e1lbum de odisea espacial \u201dRide to Heaven\u201d ya est\u00e1 disponible. La idea de este \u00e1lbum comenz\u00f3 despu\u00e9s de nuestra actuaci\u00f3n en JazzIAm Barcelona, en marzo de 2025 con el Cosmic Trio (Mateusz Smoczynski al viol\u00edn\/viol\u00edn bar\u00edtono, Ram\u00f3n L\u00f3pez a la bater\u00eda y tabla, y yo a la marimba, piano y casta\u00f1uelas). Sali\u00f3 tan bien y la impresi\u00f3n en los profesionales presentes fue tan palpable, que tuvimos que presentar esta m\u00fasica especial de tr\u00edo en un \u00e1lbum grabado profesionalmente.<\/p>\n

Desde la decisi\u00f3n en marzo de 2025 hasta la grabaci\u00f3n en mayo de 2025, mi trabajo fue reunir toda la m\u00fasica para ello, y lograr que el \u00e1lbum tuviera sentido musical y contara una historia. No fue hasta finales de marzo de 2025, alrededor del 27 de marzo, que compuse la canci\u00f3n principal \u201dRide to Heaven\u201d, en una de esas noches locas de composici\u00f3n ibicenca a las 3 a.m., y entonces qued\u00f3 clara la direcci\u00f3n del \u00e1lbum. Las siguientes piezas se fueron armando poco a poco, juntando algunas de mis composiciones m\u00e1s antiguas (Acceptance Steps y Debussy Dances) con composiciones escritas entre 1 mes o 2 semanas antes de la grabaci\u00f3n en s\u00ed. \u201dThe Docks\u201d fue escrita en abril de 2025, cuando estaba tocando en Galicia, sentado en el muelle de la ciudad al atardecer, me vino m\u00e1gicamente. Fly Low, Fly High se escribi\u00f3 2 semanas antes de la grabaci\u00f3n, por ejemplo.<\/p>\n

El proceso de grabaci\u00f3n fue hermoso, elegimos el estudio del hermano de Mateusz, Jan Smoczynski en Nieporet, Polonia, \u2019Tokarnia 2.0\u201d, en un pueblo junto a un lago a 30 minutos de Varsovia. Un paisaje completamente verde, h\u00famedo por la cercan\u00eda del lago, alojarse en un gran hotel de madera y el ambiente general de calma, casi vac\u00edo, ayudaron enormemente a crear este \u00e1lbum. Grabamos todo en 2 d\u00edas completos, teniendo que decir que \u201dRide to Heaven\u201d fue lo m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil de grabar, fue literalmente un \u201dViaje al Cielo\u201d y transmitir un mensaje tan fuerte en una canci\u00f3n no se puede hacer tan f\u00e1cilmente sin haberlo vivido previamente.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de las grabaciones, fui a Berl\u00edn a trabajar el sonido con nuestro ingeniero de sonido, Klaus Scheuermann, quien trabaja desde su estudio 4Ohm en Kreuzberg. La ciudad me caus\u00f3 una gran impresi\u00f3n y fue un ambiente de trabajo muy diferente a componer en Ibiza o grabar en un pueblo junto a un lago en Polonia. Por suerte, hicimos un buen trabajo y el sonido permiti\u00f3 que la m\u00fasica se transmitiera bien a las audiencias futuras.<\/p>\n

Desde este punto, el objetivo era que el \u00e1lbum llegara a un sello discogr\u00e1fico. Quer\u00eda lanzarlo en Alemania, ya que el pa\u00eds nos acoge a nosotros y a nuestra m\u00fasica con los brazos tan abiertos que sent\u00ed que era lo mejor que pod\u00edamos hacer para devolverles el favor. Despu\u00e9s de algunos meses, encontr\u00e9 a la gente genial de XJAZZ! de Berl\u00edn, quienes manejan un sello con el mismo nombre, con distribuci\u00f3n de \u201dThe Orchard\u201d, una filial de Sony Music. Este era el ajuste perfecto para nuestra m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n

Los 4 meses anteriores al lanzamiento han sido de trabajo ininterrumpido las 24 horas del d\u00eda, los 7 d\u00edas de la semana. Habiendo creado yo mismo la portada del \u00e1lbum, gestionado el resto de los dise\u00f1os de la edici\u00f3n f\u00edsica, la agencia de relaciones p\u00fablicas, los materiales de relaciones p\u00fablicas, la impresi\u00f3n... es realmente un milagro que haya conseguido terminar todo mientras daba lo mejor de m\u00ed en los conciertos al mismo tiempo (Essaouira en diciembre, Ibiza en febrero, C\u00e1diz y Stuttgart en marzo, y Hamburgo el mismo d\u00eda del lanzamiento).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de unos meses, encontr\u00e9 a la gente guay de XJAZZ! de Berl\u00edn, que gestiona un sello con el mismo nombre, con distribuci\u00f3n de \u201dThe Orchard\u201d, una filial de Sony Music. It went so well and the impression on the present professionals was so palpable, we had to present this special trio music in a professionally recorded album. From the decision in March 2025 until the recording in May 2025, my job was to get together all the music for it, and have the album both make musical sense and tell a story. It was not until the end of March 2025, around the 27th of March, that I composed the title track ”Ride to Heaven”, in one of those Ibizan crazy composing nights at 3 a.m, and then it was clear which was to be the direction of the album. The following pieces came together little by little, putting together some of my oldest compositions (Acceptance Steps and Debussy Dances) with compositions written between 1 month or 2 weeks before the recording itself. ”The Docks” was written in April 2025, when I was playing in Galicia, sitting on the city dock at sunset time, it just came to me magically. Fly Low, Fly High was written 2 weeks before recordings, for example. The recording process was beautiful, we chose the studio of Mateusz’ brother, Jan Smoczynski in Nieporet, Poland, ”Tokarnia 2.0”, in a lake village 30min from Warsaw. An all green scenery, humid by the lake’s proximity, staying in a wooden, big hotel, and the general calm, almost empty ambience helped so much on creating this album. We recorded all in 2 full days, having to say ”Ride to Heaven” was the most difficult to record, it was literally a ”Ride to Heaven” and conveying such a strong message into a song cannot be done that easily without having previously on it. After the recordings, I went to Berlin, to work on the sound with our sound engineer, Klaus Scheuermann, who works from his studio 4Ohm, in Kreuzberg. The city caused a big impression on me, and it was such a different working ambience to composing in Ibiza or recording in a polish lake village. Luckily, we did a good job and the sound allowed the music to convey well into the future audiences. From this point, the point was to get the album into a label, I wanted to release in Germany, as the country is welcoming us and our music with such open arms, that I found it was the best we could do to give back. After some months, I found the cool people of XJAZZ! from Berlin, who manage a label under the same name, with distribution from ”The Orchard”, a filial of Sony Music. This was the perfect fit for our music. \u00a0 The previous 4 months before the release have been of non-stop 24h\/7 work. Having created myself the album cover, dealt with the rest of physical edition designs, PR agency, PR materials, printing,.. it’s really a miracle that I managed to get all done while delivering my best in concerts at the same time (Essaouira in December, Ibiza in February, C\u00e1diz and Stuttgart in March, and Hamburg on the same release day).\u00a0 Now all is left is for all of you to enjoy this album. The idea on this album began after our showcase at JazzIAm Barcelona, in March 2025 with the Cosmic Trio (Mateusz Smoczynski on violin\/baritone violin, Ram\u00f3n L\u00f3pez on drums and tabla, and me on marimba, piano and castanets). It went so well and the impression on the present professionals was so palpable, we had to present this special trio music in a professionally recorded album. From the decision in March 2025 until the recording in May 2025, my job was to get together all the music for it, and have the album both make musical sense and tell a story. It was not until the end of March 2025, around the 27th of March, that I composed the title track ”Ride to Heaven”, in one of those Ibizan crazy composing nights at 3 a.m, and then it was clear which was to be the direction of the album. The following pieces came together little by little, putting together some of my oldest compositions (Acceptance Steps and Debussy Dances) with compositions written between 1 month or 2 weeks before the recording itself. ”The Docks” was written in April 2025, when I was playing in Galicia, sitting on the city dock at sunset time, it just came to me magically. Fly Low, Fly High was written 2 weeks before recordings, for example. The recording process was beautiful, we chose the studio of Mateusz’ brother, Jan Smoczynski in Nieporet, Poland, ”Tokarnia 2.0”, in a lake village 30min from Warsaw. An all green scenery, humid by the lake’s proximity, staying in a wooden, big hotel, and the general calm, almost empty ambience helped so much on creating this album. We recorded all in 2 full days, having to say ”Ride to Heaven” was the most difficult to record, it was literally a ”Ride to Heaven” and conveying such a strong message into a song cannot be done that easily without having previously on it. After the recordings, I went to Berlin, to work on the sound with our sound engineer, Klaus Scheuermann, who works from his studio 4Ohm, in Kreuzberg. The city caused a big impression on me, and it was such a different working ambience to composing in Ibiza or recording in a polish lake village. Luckily, we did a good job and the sound allowed the music to convey well into the future audiences. From this point, the point was to get the album into a label, I wanted to release in Germany, as the country is welcoming us and our music with such open arms, that I found it was the best we could do to give back. After some months, I found the cool people of XJAZZ! from Berlin, who manage a label under the same name, with distribution from ”The Orchard”, a filial of Sony Music. This was the perfect fit for our music. \u00a0 The previous 4 months before the release have been of non-stop 24h\/7 work. Having created myself the album cover, dealt with the rest of physical edition designs, PR agency, PR materials, printing,.. it’s really a miracle that I managed to get all done while delivering my best in concerts at the same time (Essaouira in December, Ibiza in February, C\u00e1diz and Stuttgart in March, and Hamburg on the same release day).\u00a0 Now all is left is for all of you to enjoy this album.
